Well it’s been a rough few days considering the Suns tough loss to the Lakers. The Blackburn household sounded like a mental institution. Screaming, stomping, clapping, you name it. My dad didn’t have boys so he raised us girls up on the NBA and to react to the sport the way that most drunken, angry, avid male fans would act. It can be quite intimidating. Good thing Merek is just as intense. :) Well, great season, Suns. Dragic may be my new favorite.
{look at him take on Kobe!}
On Saturday, I convinced Merek to do a little shopping with me. We ended up at Sephora and let me tell you; if you find a guy who loves Sephora as much as you do, you’ve found a keeper. He loves the skin care and cologne sections the most and actually ended buying more than me! We both purchased Evian freshener spray. Don’t laugh. Yes, it is just water but one of the most convenient accessories to keep in your purse, or in Merek’s case, his car. :)
{it actually is quite silly. This article even points it out. All we’re saying is don’t knock it until you’ve tried it}
After shopping, we bought 2 Orange Julius’s, pretzels and relaxed on a bench to people watch {a favorite pastime} We love our lazy days. Just spending time with him is perfectly satisfying. I love being in love :).
The next day, we did a little venue shopping. We’re torn between a museum/architectural type reception or something quaint and lovely. {I think we’re both leaning towards the latter}. My lovely roommate gave us a tour of her grandmothers garden. I think we might use it. It fits our theme and color palette perfectly.
{Pretty right?}
In other news, I’m a bit stuck on the wedding dress front. I planned on reconstructing my dress to have more of a trumpet flare but unfortunately, that look seems to be quite popular and I fear.. trendy. I have a few ideas but I’m afraid it will require a new dress. Hmmm. Hoping to figure it out soon. Anyway, we find out about the wedding contest TOMORROW. Ahhh fingers crossed! By the way, we were able to see each person who voted for us and we are SO GRATEFUL for supportive friends. I appreciate you all so so so much. Even if we don’t win, it was so wonderful to see the friends and people who care about us enough to take the time to better our tough situation. We were truly touched. THANK YOU! You know who you are. ;)
Love, B

I have a crush on dragic.
evian spelled backwards in naive! just kidding that joke was so 9th grade.
I hope you guys win :)
*is naive.
nice butt shot eh? I MEAN REALLY. either way…dragic rock. the suns rock. aubs/hellen keller rocks. and you & merek rock even more. i hope you win. LOVE YOU.
Hi Brittany! Ok I admitted to Merek that I read your blog and love it, hehe! But thats why blogs are public right? For people to read? :) Anyways, I LOVE how that garden looks, so gorgeous!! Doesn’t even look like Arizona! Reminds me of Europe…sigh. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for a dress.
Oh man. SEPHORA.
We have to pay to park when we go to Cambridgeside Galleria so we don’t go often, but when we go, it’s for Sephora.
In fact, I was just there yesterday! I picked up a few products from the Make Up For Ever line.
That backyard looks gorgeous, B.
I hope you win that contest! If not, I don’t know of anyone else who can rock a more beautiful wedding, whether you spend $10,000 or $500.
And about the dress, I feel you.
When I got mine three years ago, lace wedding dresses were NOT the Mormon style. It was during the big boom of the gathered hems with broaches and bright sashes across the waist.
I ended up getting it made at the same place Mele G. got hers because a few dressmakers told me that didn’t carry lace dresses remotely like that (or if they did, they looked like a dress worn for a quinceanera from hell).
Now lace is so popular that virtually every dress I see has some.
Funny how the times change :)
Okay sorry for the huge comment.
Crossing my fingers for you both tomorrow!
